It’s lunch time at 1820…


The clock strikes noon, I make my way to the 1820 Productions cafe and take my usual seat. I look across the tables and see an assortment of food, made up of all colors and textures – just as food should be. I see a sweet potato hash accompanied by ground turkey and collard greens, a made-from-scratch vegan soup with a dollop of vegan cream cheese, a protein bar, a turkey sandwich, and a few bottles of imported coconut water. Talk about healthy. It’s a feast worthy of nutritionists and Guy Fieri alike, and yet its elements are simple.

1820 knows the importance of consumption.

It’s something we all do on a daily basis, taking in everything from literature to media, all the way down to our food. We understand that what we consume has a direct affect on what we produce. In a country that’s becoming increasingly health-conscious, we’ve come to see the benefits of a healthy and balanced diet. It’s plastered on billboards and peppered throughout documentaries –
